Averto Avalli is a stylish waterfront apartment, nestled on the middle floor of one of Paxos’s most historic buildings.
The old British Residency was built during the Venetian occupation of Paxos in the early 18th Century. This important piece of Paxos history was home to the British Governor in the mid-1800s. The building fell into disrepair until 2014 when the middle of the three floors were renovated into the stylish waterfront apartment that it is today.
The apartment overlooks the harbour and has a spectacular view of Agios Nikolaos across the water. The famous Gaios piazza, described by writer Jan Morris as “copybook Ionian”, is an easy stroll away. Walking from the apartment to the beautiful beach takes less than five minutes.
At the back of the house is a terrace, with a barbecue and a lovely sitting area. It is a perfect spot for an impromptu party or a relaxing afternoon with a book and a coffee.
If you are planning a boat trip to explore the beautiful coastline with its sought-after beaches, a hired boat can be moored directly below the apartment. The speedboat shuttle service to Antipaxos is less than a five-minute walk away.
